Notes

Prior to World War II "Fiodone con Ricotta" in Molise were generally presented in the form of "half moons" but they also came in other shapes as well. Some cooks made them round, others (like my aunt, Zia Teresa Melfi) shaped them in a rectangular form and added a lattice topping.... Photo: by the contributor.
