Sector Fresh pasta and bakery products, pastry, confectionery The Purceddhruzzi also Purcidduzzi or lace cunfitti are typical Christmas cakes popular in Salento , in Apulia and in the whole Basilicata . They have shaped dumplings passed on the wrong side of a grater.
The name derives from the fact that their shape is reminiscent of the little pigs. Tradition has it that the last Purceddhruzzi Taranto, is eaten on the day of St. Anthony Abbot , on January 17 , because this saint is represented with a pig as a result. In all variants, are made using flour , yeast of beer, wine white, water and salt . Dough does not use eggs , but juice orange , mandarin orange and liqueur of aniseed . They are seasoned with honey , anesini and cinnamon .

I Purceddhruzzi anche Purcidduzzi o Pizzi cunfitti sono tipici dolci natalizi diffusi nel Salento, in Puglia e in tutta la Basilicata. Hanno forma di gnocchetti passati sul rovescio di una grattugia.
Il nome deriva dal fatto che la loro la forma ricorda di piccoli porcellini. Tradizione tarantina vuole che l'ultimo Purceddhruzzi, venga mangiato il giorno di Sant'Antonio Abate, il 17 gennaio; perch? questo santo viene rappresentato con un porcellino a seguito.
In tutte le varianti, si realizzano utilizzando farina, lievito di birra, vino bianco, acqua e sale. Per impastare non si usano uova, bens? succo di arancia, mandarino e liquore di anice. Sono conditi con miele, anesini e cannella.
