Ingredients For recipe see Italy Revisited/Recipes/"Fritters" Directions Notes According to the contributor's aunt, Mrs. A. Palazzo, in the 1930s sfingiun were actually made as very long cylinders (over 24 inches). When those from her town immigrated to Canada because extra large frying pans were not availabe, they shortened the length of the sfingiun. In essence the traditional sfingiun would look like Casacalenda's "scrapelle." Photo: Mary Melfi. |
