Ingredients

Basic Bread Recipe
1/4 cup olive oil
1 cake yeast
1 tablespoon salt
6 1/4 cups flour
2 cups or more lukewarm water

For bread sticks
Coarse salt
A few caraway seeds

Directions

Make a bread dough using "basic bread recipe" and roll dough to about 1/8-inch thickness, cut into 6-inch pieces about 1-inch wide and roll length wise into long thin sticks.

Roll sticks in coarse salt and a few caraway seeds, then let rise until double in size.

Place sticks on a cookie sheet about 2-inches apart, and bake in a hot oven (425 degrees F.) for about 20 minutes.

Place a large flat pan filled with water on bottom of oven to give bread sticks crustiness.

Should make about 5 dozen bread sticks.
