Ingredients

Pizza dough

Pizza topping

For sauce:

2 tablespoons oil
2 gloves garlic, chopped
2 pounds tomatoes, chopped
1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon sugar
salt, pepper

For extra toppings:

1/2 pound Mozzarella cheese, grated
1/2 pound pepperoni sausage

Directions

Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the garlic.

Add chopped tomatoes and the rest of the ingredients.

Cook for about 20 minutes.

Prepare the pizza dough and place on a pizza pan. Cover evenly with the tomato sauce.

Spread the grated mozzarella cheese and then the pepperoni sausage on the pizza (some, of course, prefer the sausage first and then the cheese).

Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 25 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted.

Notes

Few cooks (if any) made "all-dressed pizzas" in Italy prior to World War II. Not in Molise anyway. This style of pizza became popular in North America for obvious reasons (It tastes good, that's why!). Photo: by the contributor.
