Honey-Glazed Almonds

Ingredients

2 cups roasted whole almonds*
1 cup honey*

* Measurements are approximate



Directions

Place the almonds in a frying pan, add honey and cook until the honey is melted and the almonds are well coated.

Place the almonds on a greased cooking sheet and let them cool.

When the almonds are cooled break them apart.

Serve at room temperature.


Notes

According to Mrs. Palazzo, a first-generation Italian Montrealer, the people from Guardialfiera, Molise, only used honey when they made this recipe. Later when they come to Montreal some second-generation Italians started to use both honey and sugar, but the traditional method of doing this recipe only called for honey. Photo: Mary Melfi.
