Ingredients 1 cup regular unsalted peanuts
Directions Place all the ingredients in a frying pan, mix well. Cook on medium heat on a stove burner. Keep stirring the ingredients until all the sugar is melted and sticks to the peanuts -- this takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Notes The sugar-coated peanuts were prepared by Micheline Di Gerolomo who isn't absolutely sure peanuts were used in this recipe in delle Marche prior to World War II (though they are now being used there). In any case almonds were prepared in this way. Photo: Mary Melfi. |
