Bows of Nastres (Italian bow-shaped sweet fritters made with dough flavored with port wine and vanilla)

For dough
2 egg yolks
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons port wine
2 1/4 cups sifted flour

For frying

For dusting
Powdered sugar


Make bows by cutting pastry in ribbons 3/4 inch wide and 10 inches long.

Tie in loose knots and fry.
