Latte dolce (Ligurian diamond-shaped breaded sweet fritters, flavored with lemon)

Ingredients

1 liter (1 quart) of milk
150 g (about 5 1/4 ounces) flour
150 g (about 5 1/4 ounces)sugar
4 eggs, beaten
1 grated lemon rind
100 g (about 3 1/2 ounces) breadcrumbs

For coating
Egg whites, beaten

extra virgin olive oil for frying

For decoration
icing sugar

Ingredienti (Original Italian text)
1 l di latte
150 g farina
150 g zucchero
4 uova
1 scorza di limone grattugiata
100 g pane grattugiato
olio d'oliva extravergine
zucchero a velo



Directions

While warming up the milk, add the flour to it.

Then add the sugar, grated lemon rind and beaten eggs.

Once you have a creamy mixture, put it in a dish and wait for it to cool down and solidify.

Then cut the mixture into small pieces of diamond about 4 cm.

Dip them in beaten egg whites and then coat them with bread crumbs.

Fry in hot oil and then sprinkle with icing sugar.

Bollire il latte facendovi cadere la farina.

Unire poi lo zucchero, la scorza di limone e le uova sbattute.

Ottenuto un composto cremoso, metterlo in un piatto e attendere che si sia raffreddato.

Tagliare quindi a pezzetti romboidali di circa 4 cm.

Pssare nell'albume sbattuto e dopo nel pane grattugiato.

Friggere in olio caldo e poi spolverare con lo zucchero a velo.
