Ingredients
Dough:*
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup lard, room temperature (e.g.Tenderflake)
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
For decoration
about 1/4 cup icing sugar
*Makes about 3 dozen cookies, depending on size
Directions
Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon and salt together.
Incorporate lard with the dry ingredients (by hand).
Add beaten eggs to the flour mixture.
Slowly add the milk.
Form into a ball and knead the dough until it is soft and malleable (about 5 minutes).
Roll out the dough and using a cookie cutter cut out decorative shapes.
Bake in a 325 F degree oven until golden brown (about 15 minutes).
Cool.
Before serving sprinkle with icing sugar.
