Ingredients

4 eggs, beaten slightly
1 dessertspoon anise or other flavoring
1 heaping tablespoon baking powder
1/3 lb butter
1 1/3 cups sugar
3/4 lb walnuts, coarsely ground
3 1/3 cups flour



Directions

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, flavoring, and baking powder; cream well, add flour and nuts, and roll into a loaf.

Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees F.) about 30 minutes.

Cut into slices while still warm.
