Torta al limone (Italian lemon cake made with margarine, water, lemon juice and sugar)

Ingredients

200 g (about 7 ounces) flour type "0"
80 g (about 2 2/3 ounces) sugar
80 g (about 2 2/3 ounces) margarine
juice and zest of one lemon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
sparkling water as needed

For decoration
powdered sugar

200 g farina tipo "0"
80 g zucchero di canna
80 g margarina non idrogenata
succo e scorza di un limone
1 bustina lievito per dolci
1 pizzico sale
acqua frizzante q.b.



Directions

Soften margarine and blend well with sugar.

Combine the lemon juice and lemon zest.

Combine the flour that you previously mixed with the baking powder and add just enough water to make a soft dough.

Bake at 180 C degrees (about 350 F. degrees) for about 40 minutes.

Serve sprinkled with sugar.



Preparazione (Original Italian text)

Ammorbidire la margarina ed emulsionarla allo zucchero di canna frullato al velo.

Unire il succo e la scorza di limone.

Unire la farina precedentamente miscelata al lievito ed aggiungere acqua quanto basta per ottenere un composto morbido.

Cuocere in forno caldo a 180 C. per circa 40 minuti.

Servire spolverizzata di zucchero frullato.
