The word plum in fact indicates the plum. These cakes are flat and are made with puff pastry or leavened are therefore comparable to the pies. In Italian the word changes meaning indicating the leavened cakes in the oven. They are made of flour, fat, sugar and eggs and texture are similar to the sponge and then a lot softer of a tart. One feature is the rectangular shape: the mixture is fluid and is in fact poured into a mold cassette. They are easy to prepare at home and depending on the recipe provide a wide variety of ingredients: the yogurt, the lemon, the raisins, the chocolate, but prunes.... La parola plum cake indica svariati dolci al forno: Nella lingua inglese, si intende per plum cake un dolce di origine tedesca, fatto di prugne. La parola plum indica infatti la prugna. Questi dolci hanno forma piatta e vengono confezionati con pasta frolla oppure lievitata: sono quindi paragonabili alle crostate. In italiano il termine cambia significato indicando dei dolci lievitati in forno. Sono a base di farina, grasso, zucchero e uova e per consistenza sono simili al pan di Spagna e quindi parecchio pi soffici di una crostata. Una caratteristica la forma rettangolare: l'impasto fluido e viene infatti versato in uno stampo a cassetta.
