In the 1950s and 1960s children of recent Italian immigrants did manage to have lots of fun even though they had very little spending money (Few Italian children, if any, got allowances).

Montreal, Quebec, Canda | | Date: 1968 | Notes: Giovanni Falcone was a member of "la banda Gentile" for many years. Many people remember him as "Baritono musicista." Signor Falcone was born in Foggia, Puglia. He immigrated to Canada in 1954 where he pursued his interest in music and in the literary arts, writing poetry and prose.
The photo and biography of Giovanni Falcone was first published in Centro Dante's "Album di Famiglia, 1966." Permission to use the material was granted by Santa Cabrini Hospital's administration.
