Ururi is a town of 3580 inhabitants of the province of Campobasso, Molise, 20 km from the coast. The inhabitants are of Albanian origin, and still retain the language.

      History
In his feud stood a house called "Aurora" but it is not know the exact location where both stood the monastery of the Benedictines and the House.

In the study of ancient documents, we found an undoubted continuity between the "Aurora house" agglomeration and the subsequent settlement of Ururi to whose name we came up gradually after a few centuries, with a clear overlap of the new name in the traditional way.

There are remains of masonry which may indicate in some way the place of the existence of the ancient monastery and the house but it must be supposed that they arise in the higher part of the village of Ururi.

So it must be supposed that the place was just where today there is the historical center of the country, especially since the monastery was dedicated to Santa Maria as well as the Old Parish Church which stands just at the highest in the country.

Contemporary documents mention the presence in Aurora House, as well as the monastery and also lay, apparently settled close to the monastery, who cultivated the land. There is therefore a modest collection, dedicated to the work of the fields, and perhaps in union with the monks themselves.

In January 1075, the feudal Norman Roberto, Count of Loritello, claimed to have a monastery built in maintenance of Larino, in the place called Aurora, and, with respect to the notary Azzo, gave everything to the church Larinese of the Virgin Mary and Mother of God, for his soul and his family. Below, in the curses for anyone in the future to attempt to steal the donation to the Church.

The act is signed by William Bishop, the Judge Falco, the one that Maraldi Trimarchi while the donor feudatory count of Loritello affix the sign of the cross of illiterate (sign of the times in which the sword was worth more than the pen). With this donation to the Bishop in turn Larino happening in Aurora feud became the feudal lord.

The arrival of the Albanians [edit]

In later centuries the feud Aurora and the donation of the Earl of Loritello reappear in various papers and documents. Only shortly before the 1500 document appears to some to the Aurora House also called "Ruri" and sometimes "Ururi".

The very fact of promiscuity naming suggests that this is the period when the new denomination was saying so the house is still shown as the Aurora, but they are also in use the new names.

At that time (shortly before 1500), the Albanians had already established in the House and may therefore be that they have been just the new residents to the new name, or assonance (Aurora-Ururi) or even the name derives from the old one more in keeping with the Albanian language in which even today, the name is "Rur - Ruri.

Individuals, especially at the local, suspected that the new name "Rur,-Ruri" may derive from the Latin or "urere" (burn) or dall'albanese "uri" (brand) with clear reference to a fire that had destroyed the country . However, it is not possible to refer to those names is because there is news of such events in the period a year earlier and 1500 and because these derivations do not explain in a culturally poor.

      Festival [edit]
Holy Wood of the Cross: May 3 to Ururi Carrese takes place, a feature race with carts drawn by oxen to travel a distance of about 4 km. Currently competing wagons 2: young (biancocelesti) and youngsters (giallorossi).

      Sport
The football team is the official Aurora Ururi which in 2007 has climbed to promotion after a long absence due to failure of the old company, which had militated for years in Excellence.

Vastogirardi is a town of 798 inhabitants of the province of Isernia.

It is situated at 1200 m. s.l.m. in the Molise border with Abruzzo.

The territory of Vastogirardi extends to an area of 60.72 km ? and borders the municipalities of Capracotta north, San Pietro Avellana, Castel di Sangro (AQ) and Rionero Sannitico west, Forl? del Sannio, Roccasicura and Carovilli south, Agnone to the east.

From a morphological point of view, the territory is separated from that of Capracotta relief from that range between 1300 - 1350 m., descending steep until Piano S. Angelo and Defense Grande, an ancient lake basin at an altitude of 1100 m. from which the Trigno. To the west are the hills of Montagnola (1292 m.) and Monte Mile (1350 m.), south is Monte Pizzi (1370 m.), while to the east the hills of the Mountain with the Montarone Fiorita (1278 m.).

Vastogirardi develops behind a hill whose summit is the castle and the whole Church of San Nicola di Bari Inside the walls is the village, which appears well preserved nell'originaria defense function, as shown by the cylindrical towers incorporated in factories and among the media corps building. Result of successive enlargements, the churches of S. Rocco and S. Maria delle Grazie were built in the early eighteenth century and incorporated in the third urban extension dating from the XVIII - XIX century.

During the last century, the country has not followed the trend aggregate Gradone bands, according to the morphological evolution of the site, but has developed along via Garibaldi and King of Italy.

      History
The origin of the country dates back to 1100 -1200, the foundation of the castle or a walled courtyard with a square at the center and around the houses. In its middle part dominated by the mother church dedicated to St. Nicholas of Bari, the patron saint of the village.

It is assumed that the name Vastogirardi originating from the name of a Crusader captain, Giusto Girardi. In the past, took the name of Castrum Girardi because of the castle (other names are Attestations Castel Girardo, Rocca Girardo, Guasti Belardi, Guard and Guard Gerardo Giraldo) and then the current name, which is simplistically attibuisce the geographic position of the country, from whose top you can enjoy a vast landscape, but much piu'scientificamente by un'allitterazione jargon of Lombard.

Vastogirardi hosted a major temple italics dated between the third and second century BC, probably dedicated to Hercules, which at present there are only the bases in the area adjacent to the Sources of Trigno, and whose foundations and perimeter walls were used in medieval times to the construction of a church, which is still visible dell'abside the perimeter, known as Indian Sant'Angelo, which still gives its name to the village. On the foundations of an original chapel was built instead a church dedicated to Maria Santissima delle Grazie, enlarged and restored starting in 1909 and officially re-opened for worship in 1911, and which even today we honor a valuable statue. The legend tells that the Virgin appeared on a hill, now called Colle della Madonna, where they built a chapel. They made many attempts to bring the statue in the church where this is still but always came back on the hill until it disappeared. Later it was discovered in Minervino Murge, in the province of Bari, where we honor an icon depicting a single called Our Lady of Saturday. In fact, it is possible that this icon was brought to earth by pugliese transhumant shepherds, Vastogirardi being mountainous and the land of shepherds and flocks.

Likely source of late-Lombard, in 1260 the fief of Vastogirardi belonged to Raymond of Malet to be allocated in 1279 to Cantelmo Restaino, whose son, the alienated, with the right of recession, a Corrado Acquaviva (1310), who held a two decades. In 1384, returned to the property of the Crown, was granted in fief by Queen Margherita of Durazzo Andrea Carafa, lord of Forli del Sannio, whose family held it until 1404, when passed to and from these Castelmauro to Mormile.

In 1442 the feud is Vastogirardi Caldora, individuals who were in the same year, while in the Aragonese reign, belonged to Aquinas to move to the Avalois, Marchesale house of Pescara, and after Faleio d'Afflitto, count of Trivento. From Afflitto of the feud was alienated to Giovan Leonardo Petra, whose descendants were responsible for the renovation of the castle and its transformation into baronial building, as evidenced by a plaque above the main gateway.

In 1691 the feud was bought by the family of Alexander the Duchy of Pescolanciano, which held up to the subversion of feudalism. In 1779 Vastogirardi is in the canton of Agnone, in 1807 belongs to the district of Isernia and is capital of the government of the municipalities of Capracotta, Caccavone (current Sannita Poggio), Pescolanciano, Castelluccio in Verrina, Castiglione, Carovilli, Castel del Giudice and Pescopennataro; in 1811 is assigned to the district Capracotta, while in 1816 the district Carovilli.

Since the beginning of last century Vastogirardi increased from 2800 to the current about 800 inhabitants. Old country made up of scattered hamlets inhabited by shepherds, who are used to move along the tracks and stay for months away from home, after the crisis of transhumance and after tax of Savoy, was the constant migration, first to Latin America, then to the U.S., especially after 1918.

Increased community oriunda is either in the region of Ontario Canada (600), followed by Denver (USA) with 400 oriunda.

Compared to migration in the country, please note that in many emigrated after a great famine that occurred in the fascist era. After World War emigration went down in Europe, especially Germany and Switzerland, where they live oriunda 100.

Agriculture and livestock rearing are the main activities of the population.

The archaeological and architectural heritage of Vastogirardi includes the ruins of a Samnite sanctuary of the second century BC in S. Angel and the unique complex of fortified castle, courtyard and parish complex. Stone doorways of homes, the same stones in a size irregular, and openings framed by stone blocks and stone corbels shaped instead represent the minor construction.

The Church of St. Nicola di Bari goes back to the fifteenth century but the building appears fully restored in 1702, as attested by an entry in the side entrance portal. To a single aisle, where there is an antique silver monstrance, is accessed through a portico, in turn, accessed by a double ramp. At his side there is a stone bell tower.

The territory of Vastogirardi is divided into several small villages (Villa San Michele and Cerreto), all in agricultural and livestock.
