Grazie a queste caratteristiche naturali ? possibile apprezzare in qualsiasi stagione tipici colori, profumi e odori.

Sepino, Campobasso
Sepino, Molise, Italy
Date: Current
Notes: Sepino, Altilia excavations.... "The descendants from the ancient Oscan Sabellian tribes, the proud resistance of the Samnites against Roman occupation, the subsequent loyalty in the alliance with Rome, the rapid spread of Christianity, the influence of Benedictine culture and preaching, the troubled affairs of the early Middle Ages and the barbaric invasions, the Longobard settlements, the influence of the Court in Naples and more recent events in history have all left indelible marks on this part of the country. The Samnite remains at Monte Vairano, near Campobasso, contrast with the Roman remains at Bagino and Larino, which are best represented respectively by the archaeological complex at Altilia and the elliptical amphitheater at Piano San Leonardo.... Numerous elements are interwoven to form the overall picture of what was Samnium and is now Molise: the precious abbey at Canneto (12th century); the cathedral at Termoli (12th century); the Romanesque churches at Campobasso, Matrice, Ferrazzano, Trivento, Guardialfiera, Larino, Guglionesi and Petrella Tifernina; the Longobard castles at Campobasso, Civita di Bojano and Tufara and the Norman castles at Termoli, Gambatesa, Colletorto, Bonefro, Civiltacampomarano, Ferrazzano, Torella del Sannio, Riccia and Castropignano; the widespread, remote rural architecture; the characteristic architectural elements and the urban layout of the medieval towns which contain environmental and cultural rarities that are expressed during the year in spectacular popular celebrations...."
